SPRING TERM 2012 - NEWSLETTER
We hope that you are all enjoying a festive and relaxing break! Firstly may we say a big ‘thank you' to all the children and their families who joined us for our Christmas Concert at the end of term - the children were fantastic and our audience very appreciative! Also a huge ‘thank you' from all the teachers for the lovely gifts and cards which we received and to everyone who contributed to the collection - we are planning to spoil ourselves in the New Year!
Topic:
Our Topic Sheet for this term will be emailed along with this Newsletter and made available on the school's website. A copy of the Topic Sheet will also be displayed on our Notice board in the classroom, together with our Weekly Activity plan showing how we will be meeting the early learning goals under the Early Years Foundation Stage. The children are most welcome to bring in something related to our weekly topic for ‘show and tell' and we very much appreciate parents/carers support in this. If parents/carers can help with any ideas for visitors/items of interest/work in an environment which may be able to contribute to the children's learning we would be delighted to hear from you.

Reminders to Parents:-
•· During the colder winter months would parents/carers please ensure that their child is dressed warmly for both in the classroom and outdoor play.
•· Snow Days - in the unlikely event of the school having to close due to severe bad weather may we remind parents that this will be announced via our website (http://www.marlowmontessori.co.uk/). Miss Mary has also kindly agreed to issue this information through the Marlow Parents website which we know many of our families use.
•· If your child will be joining us for lunch this term, may we please ask you to have strict regard for our ‘no nuts' policy when preparing your child's lunchbox or bringing in ‘birthday treats'. If you have any concerns or need ideas for a healthy lunch please speak to any of our teachers, our Food & Hygiene policy is displayed on the Notice board in the classroom and we will be happy to forward a copy of this to you.
•· It is important to keep the nursery informed of any changes to the details contained in your child's Health form, such as a change of address and in particular to contact telephone numbers for both you and those nominated as ‘emergency contacts'. An Information Up-date form can be obtained from the nursery for you to do this or the information can be emailed to the setting.
LEA Funding:
Children who have turned 3 years old between 1st September and 31st December 2011 will now be eligible for funding and you should have completed and returned the necessary Claim Forms which have been issued by the setting. Please contact Miss Jan if you have not received the Claim forms and believe your child is eligible this term.
Parents whose children are already in receipt of the funding and have increased/varied their sessions for January 2012 will receive an Adjustmet Form for this term by email. Please complete and return this to us no later than Friday 6th January 2012 to ensure that your claim is continued to be met.

News from our Parent Representative:
Many thanks to Sarah for organising events for our parents/carers last term and for providing the Parent Contact List to all our families who have requested to be on this. For any families not on the Contact List who would like to be added to this, please do not hesitate to complete the form below and return to Sarah direct or via the setting. As always, your ideas or suggestions for events for this term are very welcome!
Christmas Concert DVD:
Our thanks once again to Deborah Butler for kindly volunteering to video our Concert and making the same available on DVD for all our parents/carers. Please don't forget that copies of the Concert DVD will be available to collect from the nursery at the start of the term or you may contact Deborah directly in this regard through the Parent Contact List.
